Hello Class One! Today, we are starting a journey into the exciting world of numbers! Numbers are all around us, from the number of oranges your mother buys at the market to the number of children in our class. Understanding numbers helps us count, share, and understand the world better.
Let's learn about numbers! Counting: Counting means saying numbers in order, starting from one, to find out how many things are in a group. We say: "One, two, three, four..." Numbers: Numbers are symbols we use to represent amounts. We have special symbols for each number, like 1, 2, 3, and so on. One-to-One Correspondence: This means matching one number to each object as you count. For example, if you have three mangoes, you say "one" for the first mango, "two" for the second mango, and "three" for the third mango.
Examples: Counting Mangoes: Let's count the mangoes in a basket. If we see 5 mangoes, we say "one, two, three, four, five." There are 5 mangoes in the basket. Writing Numbers: The number 3 looks like this: 3. You can practice writing it in the air with your finger! Matching Objects to Numbers: If I show you the number 7, you should be able to pick out a group of 7 beads.
Let's practice counting with common objects. I have some stones here. Let's count them together. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. We have ten stones. The number that represents this is 10.
Now, let’s move to numbers beyond ten.
