Lesson summary

This lesson focuses on very important values that help us not only in sports and games but in all parts of our lives. We will learn about being a good team player, working together with others, and showing respect to everyone, whether we win or lose. In Ghana, we see teamwork in our communities during communal labour ("Nnoboa") and in our families when we do chores together. Learning these skills will help us become better friends, classmates, and citizens.

Content for Teacher to Explain:

a) Teamwork Definition: Teamwork is when a group of people join together to work towards a common goal. Think of a broom. One single piece of the broomstick is very easy to break. But when many sticks are tied together to make a broom, they become very strong and can sweep away a lot of dirt. That is the power of teamwork! Ghanaian Example: The Ghana Black Stars football team is a perfect example. They have defenders, midfielders, and strikers. If the striker tries to do everything by himself, the team will likely lose. But when they pass the ball to each other and work together, they have a much better chance of scoring a goal and winning the match. Their common goal is to win for Ghana.
