Lesson notes

This section breaks down the essential ideas learners need to understand. A. Key Definitions Job: A specific task or position a person is paid to do. A job can be short-term or long-term. *Example:* A person's job is to be a waiter at Papaye Fast Foods. They take orders and serve food. Career: The entire journey of a person's work life. It is a long-term professional path that can include many different jobs, experiences, and learning opportunities. A career is bigger than just one job. *Example:* A person can have a *career* in the hospitality industry. Their journey might start with a *job* as a waiter, then they get training and become a restaurant manager, and later they might even open their own catering business. Career Pathway: The step-by-step route or plan you can follow to achieve your career goals. It’s like a map that shows you the education, training, and jobs you need to get to where you want to go. *Analogy:* Think of a tro-tro journey from Kaneshie to Circle. The tro-tro makes several stops (like JHS, SHS, University) before reaching the final destination (your dream career). The route it takes is the career pathway. B.
