Lesson notes

Starter (10 minutes): Think-Pair-Share Think: The teacher asks: "When you hear 'a job in sports', what is the first thing that comes to your mind?" Give students 1 minute to think quietly. Pair: Students turn to the person next to them and share their thoughts for 2 minutes. Share: The teacher invites a few pairs to share their ideas with the whole class. (Most will say "footballer," "athlete," etc. Use this to transition into the broader scope of PE careers).

Main Content (25 minutes):

The teacher will explain the key concepts using a mix of lecture, discussion, and visual aids (charts/pictures).

What is a Career Pathway? A career pathway is the journey from education and training to a specific job or series of jobs in a field. It includes the subjects you need to study in SHS, the courses you take at a university or college, any special certifications you need, and the skills you must develop.
