In our daily lives in Ghana, we are surrounded by information, or 'data'. This can be the daily sales of a waakye seller, the marks scored by students in a WASSCE mock exam, or the monthly electricity bills for households in our community. Raw data is just a list of numbers or facts, which isn't very useful on its own. This lesson will equip you with the mathematical tools to organise this raw information, represent it visually using graphs, and, most importantly, analyse it to uncover meaningful patterns and draw conclusions. Mastering these skills will help you make smarter decisions not just in mathematics, but in business, science, and everyday life.
This lesson focuses on analysing grouped data, which is data organised into classes or intervals. Part 1: Organising and Representing Data
a) Frequency Distribution Table This is a table that organises data into classes and shows the number of observations (frequency) that fall into each class.
