Lesson notes

2.1 Body Parts: Our bodies are amazing! They help us do everything from running and playing to learning and eating. It's important to know the different parts of our body and what they do.

Head: This is where our brain is. Our brain helps us think, learn, and remember things. Our eyes help us see, our ears help us hear, our nose helps us smell, and our mouth helps us taste and talk.

Arms: We use our arms to reach for things, to hug our friends and family, and to throw a ball.

Legs: Our legs help us walk, run, jump, and dance!

Hands: We use our hands to write, draw, eat, and play.

Feet: Our feet help us stand, walk, and kick a ball.

Example: Imagine you are playing soccer. You use your legs to run after the ball, your feet to kick it, your eyes to see where the goal is, and your hands to balance if you almost fall. 2.2 Healthy Habits: Keeping our bodies clean and healthy is very important. It helps us stay strong and fight off germs.

Washing hands: We should wash our hands with soap and water before eating, after using the toilet, and after playing outside. This gets rid of germs that can make us sick. Think about playing in the dirt outside – you need to wash your hands after!

Brushing teeth: We should brush our teeth at least twice a day – in the morning and before bed. This helps prevent cavities (holes in our teeth). Imagine eating a sweet lollipop; brushing your teeth afterwards helps get rid of the sugar.

Eating healthy food: Eating fruits, vegetables, and other healthy foods gives our bodies the energy they need to grow and play. Think of eating a pawpaw – it's full of vitamins!

Getting enough sleep: Our bodies need rest to grow and stay strong. We should try to get at least 10 hours of sleep each night. 2.3 Emotions: Emotions are feelings that we have inside. It's important to understand our emotions and how to express them in a healthy way.

Happy: Feeling happy means you are joyful and content. Maybe you feel happy when you play with your friends or get a good grade.

Sad: Feeling sad means you are unhappy or disappointed. Maybe you feel sad when you miss someone or something you wanted.

Angry: Feeling angry means you are upset or frustrated. Maybe you feel angry when someone takes your toy or says something mean. 2.4 Expressing Feelings: It's important to express our feelings in a healthy way.

We can do this by: Talking to a trusted adult: Talking to a parent, teacher, or grandparent about how we feel can help us feel better.

Writing in a journal: Writing down our thoughts and feelings can help us understand them better.

Drawing or painting: Expressing our emotions through art can be a healthy way to release them.

Playing: Playing can help us release energy and feel happier.

Example: If you are feeling angry because your friend took your toy, you can talk to your teacher about it instead of hitting your friend. 2.5 Being Helpful: Being helpful means doing things to make other people's lives easier or better. It's about showing kindness and contributing to your community.

Helping at home: You can help at home by tidying up your toys, helping with dishes, or setting the table.

Helping at school: You can help at school by helping your classmates, cleaning up the classroom, or being a good listener.

Helping in the community: You can help in the community by picking up litter, volunteering at a soup kitchen, or donating to a charity.

Example: Helping your mom or dad carry the groceries from the car into the house is being helpful. Guided Practice (With Solutions)
