A. Positional Language: The Words We Use to Describe 'Where' Positional language helps us explain where something is without pointing. It’s like drawing a picture with words.

Key Vocabulary: In front of / Behind: `In front of` means something is ahead of you. `Behind` means it is at your back.

Example:* In a queue at Shoprite, you stand behind the person in front of you.

Next to / Beside: This means something is right by the side of something else.

Example:* The clinic is next to the post office.

Left / Right: These words depend on which way you are facing. It's important to know your own left and right hand.

Example:* If you sit at your desk, the window might be on your left and the door on your right.

Above / Below (or Under): `Above` means something is higher up. `Below` or `under` means it is lower down.

Example:* The roof is above the classroom. Your shoes are under your desk.

Between: This means something is in the middle of two other things.

Example:* The soccer field is between the school building and the car park.
