Demonstrate teamwork, coordination, and spatial awareness

Previous Knowledge
Students already know:
Basic outdoor games and following instructions

Instructional Materials
Cones, music player, open space

Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Lead learners in jogging and stretching
Ask learners how to move safely in a circle during games

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes

Step 1: Explanation of the Game – Crazy Circle

  • Teacher explains: “Crazy Circle is a fun outdoor game where we move in a circle while following a rhythm. We have to be careful, take turns, and avoid bumping into each other.”
  • Teacher introduces the rules using simple language:
  1. Follow the circle – stay in your place in the circle, don’t cut through it.
  2. Move in rhythm – walk, skip, or hop in time with the teacher’s rhythm.
  3. Avoid collisions – watch your friends and give them space.
  4. Take turns – let everyone have a chance to move or lead.
  • Examples for clarity:
    • If the circle moves clockwise, everyone should follow the same direction.
    • If the teacher claps a slow rhythm, children must move slowly to match.
    • If a friend accidentally bumps into someone, they pause, adjust, and continue safely.

Step 2: Teacher Demonstration

  • Teacher sets up a circle outdoors.
  • Teacher demonstrates moving around the circle slowly, showing how to:
    • Keep a steady rhythm (clap or step to the beat).
    • Avoid bumping into others.
    • Stay in the circle’s boundary.
  • Optional: Teacher demonstrates variations like skipping, hopping, or walking backwards carefully.

Step 3: Learners’ Activities (Expanded & Practical)

  • Group Play: Pupils form a circle in small groups and practice moving together according to the rhythm.
  • Safety Practice: Learners practice keeping distance to prevent collisions.
  • Rhythm Practice: Teacher claps or taps a pattern for learners to follow while moving.
  • Turn-Taking: Rotate learners to lead the circle so everyone gets a chance to guide the group.
  • Cooperation Drill: Encourage learners to help friends who struggle with rhythm or balance by showing them safe movements.

Step 4: Assessment Checks (Expanded)

  • Teacher observes whether learners:
    • Move in the correct direction and rhythm.
    • Avoid bumping into others.
    • Take turns leading or following.
  • Oral questions:
  1. “What is one rule of Crazy Circle?”
  2. “Why must we avoid collisions?”
  3. “How do we move in rhythm?”
  • Learners demonstrate their understanding by showing safe movement around the circle.

Step 5: Notes (Expanded & Detailed)

  • Focus on safety first – ensure learners keep a safe distance and move slowly when needed.
  • Emphasize rhythm and coordination – moving to a beat helps develop balance and timing.
  • Highlight cooperation and teamwork – children should help each other and encourage peers.
  • Remind: “Crazy Circle is fun when everyone works together and stays safe.”

Extra Assignment (to reinforce learning):

  • At home or in the playground, practice moving in a circle with a sibling or friend while clapping to a rhythm.
  • Draw a picture of you playing Crazy Circle safely with your friends.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: Review rules, teamwork, and safety
Evaluation Method (Expanded)
Exit slip/quiz: Demonstrate one movement safely
Teacher will collect slips and provide oral feedback
Assignment (Expanded):
Practice moving safely in a circle at home
Follow-up Activity:
Teach a family member one rule of the game

Differentiation / Inclusive Strategies
Use visual cues for learners needing guidance
Pair learners for support
