Time: 25–30 minutes
Step 1: Explanation of the Game – Bat Ball
- Teacher explains: “Bat Ball is an outdoor game where we hit a ball, run bases, and work together as a team. Everyone must take turns and play safely.”
- Teacher introduces the rules in simple terms:
- Hitting the ball – hit gently with the bat in the right direction.
- Running bases – run from one base to the next safely after hitting the ball.
- Taking turns – each player gets a chance to bat and run.
- Team cooperation – help each other and encourage teammates.
- Hit the ball softly so it does not go too far.
- Run to the next base carefully, watching for others.
- Cheer for your friend when they hit the ball.
Step 2: Teacher Demonstration
- Teacher demonstrates proper techniques:
- Hitting: Hold the bat correctly and hit the ball gently.
- Running: Run from base to base without bumping into friends.
- Throwing/Catching: Show safe ways to throw and catch the ball.
- Teacher emphasizes safety: “Never swing the bat near friends. Always look before running.”
Step 3: Learners’ Activities (Expanded & Practical)
- Small Group Play: Pupils play Bat Ball in groups of 5–6.
- Hitting Practice: Each learner gets a turn to hit the ball with proper technique.
- Running Bases: Learners practice running safely from base to base after hitting.
- Throwing & Catching Practice: Pupils practice throwing the ball to a partner and catching it gently.
- Turn-Taking: Ensure all learners have equal turns batting, running, and fielding.
- Cheering & Encouragement: Teach learners to cheer for teammates after a good hit or catch.
Step 4: Assessment Checks (Expanded)
