Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher asks: “What does it mean to give something important to help someone else?” Learners give examples of sacrifice (sharing food, helping a sibling).

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes

Teacher’s Explanation & Activities:
The teacher begins by narrating the story of Jesus’ arrest and crucifixion in simple, age-appropriate language:

  • Jesus was arrested by soldiers and brought before leaders who did not understand Him.
  • He was mocked and made fun of, yet He remained loving and patient.
  • Jesus was crucified on the cross to save humanity from sin.

The teacher explains that Jesus’ death was the greatest act of love and sacrifice, showing that He cared for all people.

The teacher guides learners to reflect on what it means to sacrifice and show love:

  • Giving up something you want for someone else
  • Helping others even when it is difficult

Practical Activity:

  • Learners listen carefully to the story and then retell parts of it in their own words.
  • Learners mention small sacrifices they can make for friends, family, or classmates (e.g., sharing food, helping a sibling, giving time to help others).
  • Learners sing a short reflective song about Jesus’ love and sacrifice, reinforcing the lesson in a fun and memorable way.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):

  • Learners retell the story of Jesus’ crucifixion in pairs or small groups.
  • Learners give examples of small sacrifices they can make at home or school.
  • Learners reflect and discuss why Jesus’ love was shown through His sacrifice.
  • Learners sing and repeat a short song or rhyme about Jesus’ love and care.

Assessment Checks:
The teacher checks learners’ understanding by asking:

  1. Why was Jesus crucified?
  2. What does sacrifice mean?
  3. How can you show love like Jesus?
  4. Name one thing Jesus did to show love before His death.
  5. Why should we make sacrifices for others?

The teacher observes learners’ participation, retelling, and reflections for comprehension.

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):

  • Jesus was crucified on the cross to save humanity from sin.
  • His death was an act of love and sacrifice, showing care for all people.
  • Sacrifice means giving up something for someone else or doing something difficult to help others.
  • Learners can show love by making small sacrifices for family, friends, or classmates.
  • Jesus’ example teaches us to be loving, caring, and selfless.

Assignment (For Learners):

  1. Draw a picture showing Jesus on the cross, with symbols of love and care around Him.
  2. Write or tell one small sacrifice you can make for someone this week.
  3. Practice singing or reciting the reflective song about Jesus’ love.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: Jesus died on the cross to save us. His death shows His love and sacrifice for the world.
Evaluation Method (Expanded): Exit slip: Learners write or draw one way they can sacrifice for others. Teacher collects and gives oral feedback.
Assignment (Expanded): Learners draw a simple cross and write “Jesus loves me.”
Follow-up Activity: Learners should practice one small sacrifice at home (sharing, helping, giving up something for others).
