Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher asks: “When you are going on a journey, do you go alone or with friends?” Learners respond.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes

Teacher’s Explanation & Activities:
The teacher explains that Jesus’ purpose on earth was to teach people about God’s love, help those in need, and save people from sin.

The teacher continues with the calling of His disciples:

  • Jesus chose 12 disciples to follow Him, including Peter, James, John, and others.
  • The teacher narrates how Jesus called them while they were fishing, saying: “Follow me.”
  • The disciples left their work and followed Jesus to learn from Him.

The teacher explains that Jesus taught people through stories (parables), healed the sick, and fed the hungry. The disciples learned from His actions and shared His teachings with others.

The teacher emphasizes that just like the disciples listened to and followed Jesus, we must also listen to Jesus’ teachings today by praying, helping others, and doing what is right.

Practical Activity:

  • Learners repeat the names of some disciples after the teacher.
  • Learners role-play being called by Jesus: one learner is “Jesus,” calling others to follow, and the others pretend to leave their work and follow Him.
  • Learners discuss ways they can follow Jesus in daily life: helping family, praying, being kind, and obeying God’s word.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):

  • Learners list disciples’ names aloud after the teacher.
  • Learners act out scenarios of being called by Jesus and following Him.
  • Learners mention practical ways they can follow Jesus today, such as:
    • Helping a friend at school
    • Praying daily
    • Being kind and honest
  • Learners repeat key points after the teacher:
    • “Jesus’ purpose is to teach, help, and save people.”
    • “We can follow Jesus by obeying Him and helping others.”

Assessment Checks:
The teacher checks learners’ understanding by asking:

  1. Who were some of the disciples?
  2. What was Jesus’ mission on earth?
  3. How did Jesus call His disciples?
  4. Mention one way you can follow Jesus today.
  5. Why must we listen to Jesus’ teachings?

The teacher observes learners’ role-plays and listens to their responses for comprehension.

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):

  • Jesus’ purpose was to teach people about God, help the needy, and save people from sin.
