Teacher asks learners to share what they do to show love or respect to God at home or school.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes

Teacher’s Explanation & Activities:
The teacher explains worship as showing love, honor, and devotion to God.

  • Introduces different kinds of worship, such as:
    • Singing songs of praise.
    • Praying individually or with others.
    • Giving gifts or offerings like tithes, prayer offerings, or general gifts.
  • Use storytelling and examples to show why people give offerings:
    • Tithes to obey God and support the church.
    • Prayer offerings as a way to show gratitude or ask for blessings.
    • General gifts to help others or support God’s work.
  • Practical activity: Learners role-play giving an offering or praying, taking turns to practice both individually and in small groups.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):

  • Listen attentively to the teacher’s explanation and storytelling.
  • Discuss examples of worship and offerings in class.
  • Identify forms of worship from pictures or real-life examples.
  • Participate in role-play activities:
    • Giving an offering.
    • Saying a short prayer of thanks.
  • Ask and answer questions about why people worship God and give offerings.
  • Repeat key points after the teacher:
    • “Worship is showing love and honor to God.”
    • “Offerings can be gifts, tithes, or prayers.”

Assessment Checks:
The teacher checks learners’ understanding by asking:

  1. What is worship?
  2. Name two types of worship.
  3. Why do people give offerings to God?
  4. Give one example of a prayer offering.
  5. Can worship be done alone or with others? Explain.

The teacher observes learners’ participation in role-plays, discussions, and responses for comprehension.

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):

  • Worship is a way to honor, love, and show devotion to God.
  • Offerings are gifts given to God, which can include:
    • Tithes: giving a portion of what we earn to obey God.
    • Prayer offerings: gifts accompanying prayer or thanksgiving.
    • General gifts: helping others or supporting God’s work.
  • Each type of worship and offering has a purpose:
    • Showing gratitude to God.
    • Seeking favor or blessings.
    • Obeying God’s instructions.
  • Teaching through storytelling, role-play, and discussion helps learners understand the meaning and purpose of worship in a practical, age-appropriate way.

Assignment (For Learners):

  1. Draw a picture showing two types of worship (e.g., singing and giving an offering).
  2. Tell a family member or friend one way they can worship God at home or school.
