Teacher asks: “What makes a person good? Can you tell me some good qualities?”

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes

Teacher’s Explanation & Activities:
The teacher begins by explaining that Jesus had divine qualities that made Him special and a model for how we should live. These qualities include:

  • Love – caring for others
  • Kindness – helping those in need
  • Honesty – always telling the truth
  • Patience – waiting calmly and not getting angry
  • Forgiveness – forgiving people who do wrong

The teacher gives practical examples from Jesus’ life:

  • He healed the sick (showing love and kindness)
  • He fed the hungry (showing care and generosity)
  • He forgave sinners (showing forgiveness and patience)

The teacher emphasizes that learners should copy these qualities in their daily lives:

  • Be kind to classmates and family
  • Tell the truth always
  • Help people in need
  • Forgive those who hurt us

The teacher reads short Bible verses aloud to reinforce the lesson, such as:

  • “Love one another” (John 13:34)
  • “Be kind to one another” (Ephesians 4:32)

Practical Activity:

  • Learners act out examples of kindness, helping others, and forgiving someone.
  • Learners repeat Bible verses in pairs, encouraging one another to memorize and understand.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):

  • Learners mention qualities of Jesus aloud after the teacher: love, kindness, honesty, patience, forgiveness.
  • Learners role-play scenarios showing these qualities:
    • Helping a friend carry books (kindness)
    • Saying sorry and forgiving a classmate (forgiveness)
    • Telling the truth when they make a mistake (honesty)
  • Learners repeat Bible verses in pairs and discuss how to practice these qualities at home and school.

Assessment Checks:
The teacher checks learners’ understanding by asking:

  1. What are some qualities of Jesus?
  2. Give one example of Jesus showing kindness or love.
  3. How can you show patience like Jesus?
  4. Mention one way to forgive someone who has hurt you.
  5. Which Bible verse teaches us to love one another?

The teacher observes learners’ role-plays and listens to responses for understanding.

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):

  • Jesus showed love, kindness, honesty, patience, and forgiveness in His daily life.
  • We are called to imitate Jesus’ qualities in our homes, schools, and communities.
  • Examples of imitating Jesus: helping others, telling the truth, forgiving friends, showing patience in difficult situations.
  • Bible verses guide us to live like Jesus: “Love one another” and “Be kind to one another”.

  1. Draw a picture showing Jesus helping or forgiving someone.
  2. Write or tell one quality of Jesus you will practice this week.
