Teacher asks learners to share any gifts they have given to God or family.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes

Teacher’s Explanation & Activities:
The teacher explains the different kinds of offerings:

  • General offering: A gift or contribution given to God to show love, gratitude, or support for the church or community.
  • Tithe: One-tenth of a person’s income or resources given to God, often to support religious activities or help others.
  • Prayer offering: Gifts or contributions given as part of worship, accompanied by prayers or thanksgiving.
  • The teacher gives examples of each offering, such as putting money in a collection box, helping someone in need, or bringing food to church.
  • Practical activity: Learners draw pictures of themselves giving offerings or role-play giving a tithe or gift during worship.
  • Discuss why giving offerings is important: to show gratitude, obey God, help others, and support the community.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):

  • Listen carefully to the teacher’s explanations.
  • Draw a picture showing the type of offering they learned about (general, tithe, or prayer offering).
  • Participate in role-play, pretending to give an offering during worship.
  • Discuss reasons why people give offerings and share personal examples of giving at home or school.
  • Repeat key points after the teacher:
    • “I give offerings to show love and thankfulness to God.”
    • “Tithes and gifts help the church and others.”

Assessment Checks:
The teacher checks learners’ understanding by asking:

  1. Name three types of offerings.
  2. What is a general offering?
  3. What is a tithe, and why is it given?
  4. What is a prayer offering?
  5. Why is giving offerings important?

The teacher observes learners’ drawings, role-plays, and discussions to ensure comprehension.
