Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
The teacher asks learners: “Who loves you at home?” “How do you know they love you?” Learners sing a short song about love (“Love is kind, love is sharing”).

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes

Teacher’s Explanation & Activities:
The teacher begins by explaining that love is caring for others, sharing, helping, and showing kindness. The teacher gives simple, age-appropriate explanations:

  • Love for God: Praying, obeying His Word, thanking Him, and trusting Him.
  • Love for family: Helping parents, being kind to brothers and sisters, listening to elders.
  • Love for friends: Sharing toys or food, playing together nicely, not fighting.
  • Love for creation: Caring for plants, animals, and the environment, such as watering flowers or picking up litter.

The teacher gives practical examples:

  • Helping your mother sweep the floor
  • Sharing food or toys with a friend
  • Greeting teachers politely
  • Watering flowers or feeding a pet

The teacher reads a simple Bible verse: “God is love” (1 John 4:8), explaining that God showed His love by creating us and giving us families, friends, and a beautiful world.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):

  • Learners mention aloud examples of how they show love at home, in school, or in the community.
  • Learners act out short role-plays:
    • A child helping a friend carry books
    • A child watering a plant
    • A child greeting a teacher
  • Learners repeat and recite the memory verse together: “God is love” (1 John 4:8).
  • Learners discuss in pairs other ways they can show love to people and the world around them.

Assessment Checks:
The teacher checks learners’ understanding by asking:

  1. What is love?
  2. How can we show love at home?
  3. How can we show love at school?
  4. What Bible verse tells us about love?
  5. Give one example of showing love to animals or plants.

The teacher observes learners’ role plays and listens to their answers to ensure comprehension.

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):

  • Love means caring, sharing, helping, and being kind to others.
  • God showed His love by creating us, giving us families, friends, and a beautiful world.
  • We show love to God by praying, thanking Him, and obeying His Word.
  • We show love to family by helping parents, being kind to siblings, and listening to elders.
  • We show love to friends by sharing, playing nicely, and avoiding fights.
  • We show love to creation by caring for plants, animals, and the environment.

Assignment (For Learners):

  1. Draw a picture of one way you show love at home and one way you show love to a friend.
  2. Practice saying the memory verse aloud five times: “God is love” (1 John 4:8).
  3. Ask your parents to help you list three acts of love you can do this week and try to do them.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: The teacher reviews meaning of love, ways of showing love, and the Bible verse.
Evaluation Method (Expanded):
Exit slip/quiz: Learners will draw one way they can show love (e.g., sharing food, greeting). Teacher will collect slips and provide oral feedback.
Assignment (Expanded):
Draw a picture of yourself showing love at home or in school.
Follow-up Activity:
Learners should tell their parents one way they showed love today.
Differentiation / Inclusive Strategies
Slow learners will act out simple love actions instead of giving long explanations. Fast learners will be asked to share extra examples of showing love in the community.
