Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher asks: “What happens when you do what your parents say?” “What happens when you refuse?” Learners give short responses.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes

Teacher’s Explanation & Activities:
The teacher begins by explaining that obedience means listening and doing what is right. The teacher gives simple, practical examples:

  • Greeting parents and elders politely every day
  • Doing homework on time
  • Following instructions from teachers in class
  • Helping at home when asked

The teacher explains that disobedience means refusing to listen or doing what is wrong, such as ignoring instructions, fighting, or lying.

The teacher highlights the benefits of obedience:

  • Receiving blessings from God
  • Having peace at home and school
  • Feeling happiness and being respected by others

The teacher briefly shares a Bible story of Samuel obeying God:

  • Samuel listened carefully to God’s instructions and did what God told him to do. Because he obeyed, God blessed him and guided him to do great things.

Practical Activity:

  • Learners act out role-plays showing obedient vs. disobedient behavior:
    • One learner helps tidy the classroom (obedient)
    • Another learner refuses to follow instructions (disobedient)
  • Learners clap or cheer for the obedient child to reinforce positive behavior

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):

  • Learners role-play obedient and disobedient children in pairs or small groups.
  • Learners list two people they must obey daily (e.g., parents, teachers).
  • Learners repeat after the teacher: “Obedience brings blessings.”
  • Learners discuss in pairs other ways they can obey God, parents, and teachers.

Assessment Checks:
The teacher checks learners’ understanding by asking:

  1. What is obedience?
  2. What is the opposite of obedience?
  3. Mention two benefits of obedience.
  4. Can you give one example of obeying your parents?
  5. What happened to Samuel when he obeyed God?

The teacher observes learners’ role plays and listens to their responses.

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):

  • Obedience means listening and doing what is right.
  • Disobedience means refusing to listen or doing wrong.
  • God blesses those who obey and gives them peace and happiness.
  • Obedience is important at home, in school, and in society.
  • Samuel is an example from the Bible of someone who obeyed God and was blessed.
