Lesson Development – ABC Model

A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher asks learners if they pray or sing songs alone or with friends/family.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes

Teacher’s Explanation & Activities:
The teacher explains the different types of worship:

  • Private worship: Personal prayers, singing, or reading at home. Strengthens individual relationship with God.
  • Fellowship: Worshiping with family, friends, or small groups. Encourages sharing faith and supporting each other.
  • Prayer meetings: Gathering in groups to pray together, ask for blessings, or thank God.
  • General worship: Church or community worship services. Brings many people together to honor God collectively.
  • Discusses why people worship in different ways: to grow spiritually, connect with God, show gratitude, and support one another.
  • Practical activity: Learners role-play each type of worship in pairs or small groups.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):

  • Participate in role-plays to demonstrate each type of worship: private, fellowship, prayer meetings, and general worship.
  • Identify and name each type of worship after teacher explanation.
  • Discuss the purpose of each type, e.g., private worship helps you pray quietly; general worship unites people.
  • Ask and answer questions about how and why people worship differently.
  • Repeat key points after the teacher:
    • “I can worship God privately or with others.”
    • “Different types of worship help us grow closer to God and each other.”

Assessment Checks:
The teacher checks learners’ understanding by asking:

  1. What is private worship? Give an example.
  2. What is fellowship? Who can you worship with?
  3. What happens during a prayer meeting?
  4. What is general worship? Where does it take place?
  5. Why do people worship in different ways?

The teacher observes learners’ participation in role-plays, discussions, and responses to ensure comprehension.

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):

  • Worship can be personal or communal.
  • Private worship: strengthens individual relationship with God; can be done anytime.
  • Fellowship and prayer meetings: build community and allow believers to support one another spiritually.
  • General worship: unites many people to honor God collectively.
  • Understanding the different types of worship helps learners see how faith can be expressed in many ways.
  • Practical activities like role-play and discussion help learners internalize the concepts.

Assignment (For Learners):

  1. Draw a picture showing your family worshiping at home (fellowship).
  2. Act out a private prayer or song at home and describe it to a family member.
  3. Practice saying aloud: “I can worship God alone or with others, and all are ways to honor Him.”
