Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher asks students: “What makes your house feel like home? Is it the people, the rules, or the love we share?” Students respond freely.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes

Definition of Family and Home:

  • A family is a group of people who live together, care for each other, and share responsibilities.
  • A home is where the family lives together in peace, safety, and love. It is not just a building, but a place where everyone feels happy and respected.

Characteristics of a Home:

  • Shelter: A safe place to live and sleep.
  • Love: Family members care for and support each other.
  • Care: Helping one another in daily activities.
  • Rules: Guidelines that help families live peacefully.
  • Respect: Listening to and valuing each family member.

Rules at Home:

  • Greet elders politely.
  • Respect parents and other family members.
  • Help with household chores.
  • Do homework regularly.
  • Obey bedtime routines.
  • Speak politely and kindly.

Story Example:
Teacher tells a short story about two children:

  • Child A obeys home rules, greets parents, helps with chores, and does homework.
  • Child B disobeys rules, refuses chores, and speaks rudely.
  • Learners discuss the outcomes: Child A is happy and praised, Child B faces consequences and unhappiness.

Practical Activity:

  1. Teacher demonstrates scenarios: greeting parents, cleaning rooms, helping with chores.
  2. Learners role-play the scenarios in pairs or groups.
  3. Class observes and identifies correct behavior versus disobedience.
  4. Discuss why following home rules is important for everyone’s happiness.

  • Discuss what rules exist in their own homes.
  • Demonstrate polite greetings to elders and family members.
  • Practice role-playing chores, helping siblings, and doing homework.
