  • What makes a paragraph exciting or dull?
  • How do words like “dark,” “quietly,” or “colorful” affect your imagination?

Think-Pair-Share:

  • Think: Describe your favorite room in 3 lines.
  • Pair: Switch with a partner and improve each other’s writing by adding or changing adjectives and adverbs.
  • Share: Volunteers read out both versions for class feedback.

  • Helps the reader visualize scenes, emotions, and actions.

  1. Group Writing: In groups, describe a market scene using at least 5 adjectives and 5 adverbs.
  2. Picture Prompt: Students describe an image projected on the board using rich adjectives and adverbs.
  3. Editing Exercise: Rewrite a bland paragraph into a vivid one.

Assignment:

  1. Write a descriptive or narrative paragraph (8–10 lines) about a rainy day.
    • Use at least 5 adjectives and 5 adverbs.
    • Underline adjectives and circle adverbs.
  2. Edit your classmate’s paragraph and give suggestions.
