A – Anticipation (Engagement/Warm-Up)
Motivational Set (5 minutes) Ask learners:
"What do you think are the biggest problems farmers in Liberia face today?"
Write down responses on the board. Use their answers to introduce the formal subtopics of the day:

- Lack of subsidies

- Bad roads/infrastructure

B – Building Knowledge (Development)

- Land Issues
- Many farmers do not own the land they use.
- Traditional land ownership makes it hard to get loans or invest.
- Lack of Subsidies
- Farmers buy seeds, fertilizers, and equipment at high cost.
- Government support is weak, especially for small-scale farmers.
- Storage Problems
- Lack of proper warehouses or silos.
- Leads to spoilage of harvested crops.
- Education
- Many farmers have little or no formal education.
- Poor knowledge of modern farming techniques.
- Infrastructure (Roads)
- Bad or no roads to farms.
- Makes transportation expensive and difficult.
- Technology
- Outdated tools and poor access to modern machines or irrigation systems.
- Reduces productivity and discourages young people.
Class Activity (10 minutes)
Divide learners into six groups. Each group is assigned one challenge. They must:
- Explain how it affects agriculture
- Suggest two solutions Groups present findings to the class.
