B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes
- Judaic Origin of Christianity
- Christianity began within Judaism (Jesus and his disciples were Jews).

- Difference: Christians believed Jesus was the Messiah; Jews awaited another.
Example: Compare the Jewish Ten Commandments to Christ’s Sermon on the Mount.
- Jesus Christ the Man
- Born in Bethlehem, raised in Nazareth.
- Preached love, forgiveness, humility, and salvation.
- Crucified under Pontius Pilate, resurrected (foundation of Christian faith).
Activity: Students create a short timeline of Jesus’ life events.
- Christ’s Basic Teachings
- Love for God and neighbor (Golden Rule).
- Forgiveness of sins.
- The Kingdom of God is spiritual, not political.
Example: Compare the Parable of the Good Samaritan with today’s humanitarian acts.
- Rise and Decline of the Papacy
- Papacy = central authority of Roman Catholic Church.
- Rose in power after Rome’s fall, Popes acted as both spiritual and political leaders.
- Decline due to corruption, abuses (sale of indulgences), and rise of nationalism.
