Purpose: Activate prior knowledge and spark curiosity.

  • Begin with probing questions:

    • “How does perseverance influence outcomes in your life?”
  • Read aloud the opening lines:

Purpose: Develop critical thinking and deeper understanding.

  • Pose higher-order questions:

    • How can this poem guide students in real-life situations of waiting or enduring trials?
  • Mini analytical tasks:
    • Identify recurring motifs (e.g., waiting, trust, grace) and their significance
    • Examine narrative voice and use of rhythm to convey calmness
    • Compare with personal experiences or biblical examples of patience
