Students are aware of the importance of economic development and the role agriculture plays. They are now transitioning into understanding the significance of industry.
A – Anticipation (Engagement/Warm-Up)
Motivational Set (5 minutes) Ask:
"What are some things we use every day that are made in factories or industries?"
Allow students to list items like clothes, soap, cement, etc. Then introduce the topic of industrialization as the process of producing such goods.
B – Building Knowledge (Development)

Localization of Industries:
Example: If a region in Liberia has multiple furniture companies, it becomes a center for wood processing and attracts skilled carpenters, suppliers, and buyers.
Class Activity (10 minutes)
Divide the class into three groups. Each group will create a short presentation (oral or poster) on one of the key terms: Industrialization, Industrialization Policy, or Localization.
C – Consolidation (Wrap-Up and Evaluation)
Teacher Summary (3 minutes) Summarize that industrialization is a key part of Liberia’s development and that policies and location strategies help grow the economy.
