A – Anticipation (Engagement/Warm-Up)

Motivational Set (5 minutes) Ask:

“What have been your favorite lessons from this unit on economic development? Why?” Let students share their thoughts, helping them mentally revisit what they’ve learned.

 

B – Building Knowledge (Development)

Teacher’s Recap and Guided Discussion (20 minutes)

Week-by-Week Summary:

  • Week 1: Economic development vs economic growth, and the meaning of economic planning.
  • Week 2: Features of underdeveloped, developing, and developed economies.
  • Week 3: Liberian traditional economy—subsistence farming, barter trade, low tech use.
  • Week 4: Factors influencing economic development—education, health, infrastructure, governance, etc.
