A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher says a word (e.g., big). Ask learners: Can you think of another word that means the same? One that means the opposite? Brief discussion of synonyms and antonyms.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes

Definitions and Explanations:

  • Synonyms: Words that have similar meanings.
    • Examples:
      • big → large
      • happy → joyful
      • fast → quick
    • Using synonyms helps vary language in writing and speaking.
  • Antonyms: Words that have opposite meanings.
    • Examples:
      • big ↔ small
      • hot ↔ cold
      • happy ↔ sad
    • Recognizing antonyms strengthens comprehension and vocabulary.
  • Verbs: Words that express actions, states, or occurrences. Verbs change form depending on tense.
    • Present Tense: Action happening now
      • Example: I run to school.
    • Past Tense: Action that already happened
      • Example: I ran to school yesterday.
    • Past Participle: Often used with auxiliary verbs to indicate completed actions
      • Example: I have run to school.
  • Teacher Modeling:
    • Write sentences on the board and identify verbs, synonyms, and antonyms.
      • Example sentence: “The happy boy ran fast to the large playground.”
        • Synonyms: happy → joyful, large → big
        • Antonyms: happy ↔ sad, large ↔ small
