Date: Week 14
Lesson Duration: 45 minutes
Week & Period: Week 14, Period 3
Topic: Differences Between Male and Female
Sub-topic: Reproduction basics (pregnancy and birth)
Learning Objectives
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to describe that females can get pregnant while males cannot, understand that the baby develops in the mother’s womb, and explain the basic process of birth in an age-appropriate way.

Previous Knowledge
Students already know male and female private parts and that they are special and should be respected.

Instructional Materials
Body charts, pictures of pregnancy (age-appropriate), markers, storybooks or diagrams of baby development

Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher asks students if they know any differences between boys and girls. Students share their ideas and experiences.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes
Learners’ Activities (Expanded):
• Teacher explains that females can become pregnant and males cannot. Use a simple chart or storybook illustration showing a mother’s womb and the baby growing inside. Avoid graphic details; focus on the concept that babies grow safely inside the mother until they are ready to be born.
• Teacher discusses the role of both parents in having a baby in simple, age-appropriate language, emphasizing care and family.
• Students participate in a “Question Box” activity: they write or ask age-appropriate questions about pregnancy and birth. Teacher addresses questions sensitively, reinforcing privacy and respect.
• Role-play activity: students act out caring for a baby doll, highlighting nurturing, responsibility, and respect for new life.
• Pair discussion: students share observations and ask guided questions such as “Who can get pregnant?” “Where does the baby grow?” “How does a baby come into the world?”

Assessment Checks:
• Teacher asks students to state which gender can get pregnant.
• Students identify where the baby grows (womb).
• Teacher observes students explaining the concept of birth in their own words.
• Quick worksheet activity: match pictures of mother, baby, and father with simple labels (mother carries baby, father helps care for baby).

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):
• Emphasize age-appropriate facts: females can get pregnant, males cannot, and babies grow in the mother’s womb until birth.
• Avoid unnecessary medical or graphic details; focus on understanding and respect.
• Reinforce respect for all genders, privacy, and body safety.
• Encourage students to understand that caring for a baby involves love, protection, and responsibility.
• Integrate previous lessons on private parts and boundaries, emphasizing that these concepts relate to safety and respect for oneself and others.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: Students summarize the differences between males and females, where babies grow, and the birth process. Teacher reinforces understanding with visual aids.

Evaluation Method (Expanded)
Exit slip/quiz: Students write one difference between male and female and one fact about pregnancy. Teacher collects slips and provides oral feedback.

Assignment (Expanded)
Students draw a simple diagram showing male and female differences and label the womb in females.

Follow-up Activity: In Week 15, students will learn about gender equality and respect for all people.

Differentiation / Inclusive Strategies: Provide visual diagrams and simple story examples. Encourage pair discussion for students needing support.
