Lesson Development – ABC Model

A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher shows 3 groups of 2 apples and asks learners to add 2 + 2 + 2. Teacher introduces multiplication as a shortcut.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes
Multiplication is repeated addition.
Example: 2 × 3 means 2 added 3 times = 2 + 2 + 2 = 6.
Example 2: 4 × 5 = 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 = 20.
Multiplication tables help us calculate quickly. Learners practice tables 2–5.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):
Chant multiplication tables in groups.
Use dice to create multiplication problems.
Draw groups of objects and write multiplication sentences.

Assessment Checks:
Solve 3 × 4, 2 × 6, and 5 × 5.

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):
Multiplication is faster than repeated addition. It uses × as the multiplication sign.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: Multiplication is repeated addition. Practice makes tables easy to remember.

Evaluation Method (Expanded):
Exit slip: Solve 4 × 3.
Teacher will collect slips and provide oral feedback.

Assignment (Expanded):
Memorize multiplication table of 2. Write 10 examples using ×.

Follow-up Activity:
Students practice chanting tables at home.

Differentiation / Inclusive Strategies
Struggling learners use drawings and counters. Advanced learners try tables 6–9.
