Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher asks: “Who likes playing games with friends?” Learners respond. Teacher briefly demonstrates “Simon Says” with two volunteers.
B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes

Examples of Classroom Games:

  • Simon Says: Follow only the actions that begin with “Simon says.”
  • Tag: One player chases and gently tags others.
  • Relay Games: Players take turns carrying an object or completing a small task to pass to the next teammate.

Rules:

  • Listen carefully to instructions.
  • Wait for your turn patiently.
  • Follow instructions accurately.
  • Avoid cheating or pushing others.

Fair Play:

  • Respect others while playing.
  • Accept winning or losing gracefully.
  • Encourage teammates and play together happily.

Demonstrations:

  • Teacher demonstrates Simon Says with the full class, showing examples of correct and incorrect actions.
  • Teacher introduces Tag in a small group, explaining safe ways to tag and run.
  • Explain how relay games work using a soft object or baton.

Practical Activities:

  • Simon Says: Whole class participates, practicing listening and following instructions.
  • Tag: Small groups play in a designated safe area inside the classroom or hall.
  • Relay Races: Groups take turns carrying a soft object or baton from start to finish.
  • Encourage cheering for teammates and celebrating efforts, not just winning.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):

  • Follow teacher’s instructions carefully during games.
  • Take turns patiently and practice safe movements.
  • Encourage classmates by cheering and clapping.
  • Discuss briefly after each game: “What did you enjoy? How did you show fair play?”

Assessment Checks:

  • Ask learners to mention one rule of fair play.
  • Observe active participation, cooperation, and adherence to rules during games.
  • Check if learners encourage teammates and show respect to others.

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):

  • Minor games develop listening skills, teamwork, coordination, and social interaction.
  • They also teach discipline, patience, and respect while making learning fun.
  • Playing games regularly helps children stay active, healthy, and socially confident.
  • Fair play encourages honesty, empathy, and cooperation in all activities.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: Teacher revises names of games, rules, and fair play with learners.
Evaluation Method (Expanded): Exit slip/quiz: Students say one game they enjoyed most and the rule they followed.
Assignment (Expanded): Teach one of the games learned today to a family member.
Follow-up Activity: Play at least one minor game with friends during break time.
