Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher asks: “Who here is a boy? Who here is a girl?” Students raise hands. Teacher explains that today they will learn about boys and girls respectfully.
B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes

Explanation:

  • Boys and girls have some different physical characteristics as they grow:
    • Boys: May have deeper voices, different hair styles, and increasing body strength.
    • Girls: May have softer voices and different body shapes.
  • Respect: Both boys and girls are important, equal, and should be treated kindly.
  • Hygiene: Everyone must stay clean by bathing regularly, brushing teeth, and wearing clean clothes.

Practical Activity:

  • Teacher draws simple outlines of a boy and a girl on the board.
  • Learners label major features respectfully (head, arms, legs, hair style, etc.).
  • Teacher guides learners to avoid teasing or laughing at differences.
  • Brief discussion on self-care: washing, brushing, and keeping nails clean.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):

  • Identify and label boy and girl outlines on the board.
  • Explain how to care for themselves through personal hygiene practices.
  • Share verbally what respect means when interacting with boys and girls.
  • Discuss ways to show kindness and inclusion during games and daily activities.

Assessment Checks:

  • Ask learners:
    • “Name one difference between boys and girls.”
    • “How can you show respect to everyone?”
  • Check learners’ drawings and labels for accuracy and respectful representation.
  • Observe participation and understanding during discussion.

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):

  • Boys and girls have some physical differences, but both are equally important.
  • Practicing good hygiene is essential for all children.
  • Respecting others, regardless of gender, builds friendship, confidence, and a positive classroom environment.
  • Awareness of differences helps children understand themselves and others while promoting inclusion and safety.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: Teacher revises the physical characteristics of boys and girls and emphasizes respect and hygiene.
Evaluation Method (Expanded): Exit slip/quiz: Learners draw themselves and write one way they take care of their body. Teacher provides oral feedback.
Assignment (Expanded): At home, ask your parent to explain one way to keep your body clean and healthy.
Follow-up Activity: Practice hygiene daily and respect both boys and girls equally.
