Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Ask learners: “Can you share a time you helped someone? How did it feel?” Relate to charity.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes

Content/Explanation:

  • Begin by defining charity in simple terms: helping others, sharing food, giving your time, or assisting someone in need. Explain that acts of charity make God happy and reflect Jesus’ love.
  • Tell a story about Jesus helping the poor and sick, highlighting how even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Use gestures and expressions to engage learners.
  • Conduct a class discussion using the question: “What small acts of charity can we do today?” Encourage learners to give practical examples from their daily lives.
  • Organize a practical activity: learners bring small items (like snacks, stationery, or clothes) to donate, or act out a helpful task in class, showing how to help others.
  • Conduct pair work: learners plan a simple act of charity they can do during the week, explaining to their partner what they will do and how.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):

  • Listen attentively to the story of Jesus’ acts of charity.
  • Share ideas for helping others at home, school, or in the community.
  • Participate in the practical activity, either bringing items or role-playing helping someone.
  • Work in pairs to plan an act of charity, describing steps they will take and reflecting on its importance.

Assessment Checks:

  • Observe learners performing acts of charity during class activities.
  • Ask learners to describe an act of charity they did today or plan to do this week.
  • Check learners’ understanding by listening to explanations during pair work and discussions.

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):

  • Emphasize that even small actions count as charity and can make someone happy.
  • Encourage learners to practice charity regularly, both at home and in school.
  • Highlight that charity is not just about giving material items; helping, sharing, and showing kindness are equally important.
  • Reinforce the connection between charity and following Jesus’ example.
  • Suggest learners keep a charity journal for the week to note down the acts of kindness they perform or witness.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: Helping and sharing with others is a way to show love and please God.
