Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher asks learners to share one person who has helped them recently and how it made them feel. Relate this to how Jesus helps people.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes

Content/Explanation:

  • Begin by defining Jesus Christ as the Son of God who loves and guides everyone. Explain in simple terms that Jesus cares for all people, regardless of age, status, or background.
  • Explain key ways Jesus helps people: He heals the sick, feeds the hungry, teaches kindness, forgives those who make mistakes, and shows love to everyone.
  • Use a storytelling approach to narrate one of Jesus’ miracles—for example, Jesus feeding the 5,000 or healing the blind man. Tell the story vividly, using expressions, gestures, and simple questions to engage learners.
  • Introduce a practical activity: demonstrate a simple role-play where learners act out helping someone, e.g., giving food to a hungry friend, comforting a sick person, or sharing toys, emphasizing that these actions are ways of following Jesus’ example.
  • Conduct a group discussion guided by the question: “If Jesus were here today, how would He help us?” Encourage learners to give ideas from their own experiences.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):

  • Listen attentively to the story of Jesus’ miracles and answer simple comprehension questions (“Who did Jesus help?” “What did He do?”).
  • Participate actively in the role-play, taking turns to act as helpers and those being helped.
  • Share their ideas in the group discussion, respecting each other’s contributions.
  • Draw a picture of Jesus helping someone, either based on the story or on their imagination, and write one sentence describing the act of kindness.

Assessment Checks:

  • Ask learners to mention one way Jesus helps people and observe if they can connect it to the story or their daily life.
  • Observe learners during the role-play for understanding of helping others and ability to act appropriately.
  • Review learners’ drawings to check if they accurately represent helping actions inspired by Jesus.
  • Ask reflective questions: “How can you be like Jesus at home or in school?”

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):

  • Highlight that Jesus loves everyone equally and that no act of kindness is too small to make a difference.
  • Emphasize practical ways learners can follow Jesus daily: helping friends, sharing food, comforting the sick, or forgiving someone who did wrong.
  • Encourage empathy and kindness during all activities; remind learners that helping others is not just for school but can be done every day at home and in the community.
  • Provide positive reinforcement for participation and correct understanding, e.g., “I like how you thought of sharing your lunch like Jesus would.”
  • Suggest connecting this lesson to home: learners can practice one act of kindness during the week and share it next class.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: Jesus Christ loves and guides us; we can follow His example by helping others and being kind.

Evaluation Method (Expanded)
Exit slip/quiz: Learners write one way they will follow Jesus this week
Teacher collects slips and provides oral feedback

Assignment (Expanded):

Follow-up Activity:
Learners perform one act of kindness at home or school and share it next class
