Lesson Development – ABC Model

A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher asks learners: “What makes humans special?” and “Can you name things you see in the sky?”

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes

Teacher’s Explanation & Activities:
The teacher explains that humans are special because God created them in His image. Humans have unique qualities:

  • Ability to think, speak, and make choices
  • Capacity to learn, create, and care for other creatures

The teacher introduces celestial bodies:

  • Sun: gives light, warmth, and helps plants grow
  • Moon: shines at night, marks months and tides
  • Stars: decorate the night sky, used for navigation, and guide travelers

Teacher also explains:

  • Day and night: caused by Earth’s rotation
  • Seasons: change due to Earth’s tilt and movement around the Sun
  • Simple observations learners can make about the sky

Practical Activity:

  • Learners draw the sun, moon, and stars, showing their positions in the day and night sky.
  • Teacher asks learners to point to the sky, name the sun or moon, and discuss what they see.
  • Class discussion: how humans depend on the sun, moon, and stars.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):

  • List at least two special qualities of humans.
  • Draw and label sun, moon, and stars.
  • Discuss in pairs: what humans need the sun and moon for.
  • Observe the sky during break or at home and note day vs. night changes.
  • Repeat after the teacher: “God made humans special and placed the sun, moon, and stars in the sky for us.”

Assessment Checks:

  • Name one human quality that makes humans special.
  • Identify sun, moon, and stars from pictures or real observation.
  • Explain one way the sun or moon helps life on Earth.
  • Mention one difference between day and night.

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):

  • Humans are created in God’s image, giving them responsibility to care for creation.
  • The sun, moon, and stars are signs of God’s design.
  • Celestial bodies help regulate time, seasons, and natural events.
  • Encourage learners to observe the sky daily and appreciate God’s creation.
  • Reinforce the idea that humans have a duty to protect and use God’s creation wisely.

Assignment (For Learners):

  1. Draw a picture showing day and night, including the sun, moon, and stars.
  2. List two human qualities that make humans special.
  3. Ask parents to explain a season or natural phenomenon and report back to class.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: Humans are unique creations of God; the sky has the sun, moon, and stars that serve important purposes.

Evaluation Method (Expanded)
Exit slip/quiz: Learners write one thing that makes humans special and one celestial body.
Teacher will collect slips and provide oral feedback.

Assignment (Expanded): Draw humans with one special quality and a celestial body.

Follow-up Activity: Share drawings and explain qualities and celestial bodies.
