A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)

Ask learners to share a story where someone felt included or excluded.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes

Content focus:

  • Literature and belongingness:
    • Use stories, poems, or fables that highlight teamwork, respect, empathy, and inclusion.
    • Discuss how characters demonstrate empathy, help others feel included, and solve conflicts respectfully.
    • Highlight lessons learners can apply in their classroom, home, and community.
  • Practical activity: Act out parts of a story or fable showing teamwork, helping others, or including someone who is left out.

Teaching strategies & aids:

  • Use age-appropriate storybooks, poems, or flashcards illustrating inclusion and empathy.
  • Conduct guided reading and discussion, asking questions about characters’ actions and feelings.
  • Use role-play to bring the story to life and reinforce social values.
