Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Ask learners to share one rule they follow at home and why it is important.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes

Content focus:

  • Definition of rules: Rules are agreements or instructions that guide how people behave to keep everyone safe and happy.
  • Purpose of rules at home:
    • Ensure safety (e.g., don’t touch hot objects).
    • Promote fairness (e.g., taking turns with toys).
    • Maintain order (e.g., tidy up after playing).
  • Rights of expression:
    • Children have the right to share their opinions and feelings respectfully.
    • Demonstrate speaking politely, listening, and taking turns.
  • Examples and demonstration:
    • Story scenarios: A child asks to play outside safely; a sibling disagrees—role-play resolving it respectfully.
    • Role-play expressing an opinion about household chores or meal choices.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):

  • Sharing examples: Students list rules they follow at home.
  • Role-play: Act out situations where they express opinions politely.
  • Drawing activity: Create a chart of household rules with consequences for breaking them.

Assessment Checks (Expanded):

  • Observation: Watch learners during role-play for respectful communication and understanding of rules.
  • Oral questioning: Ask learners why rules exist and how expressing opinions politely helps families.
  • Participation: Check that learners can explain at least two household rules and their purpose.

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):

  • Rules are important to keep the home safe, fair, and organized.
  • Children have the right to express themselves but must do so with respect and consideration.
  • Practicing respectful expression builds confidence, understanding, and cooperation in family settings.
  • Visual aids, story scenarios, and role-play help learners connect concepts to daily life.

Optional Extension/Assignment:

  • Ask learners to draw a comic or picture showing one rule at home and what happens if it is followed or broken.
  • Encourage learners to write 2–3 sentences about a time they expressed an opinion at home and how it was received.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: Rules keep the home organized; children can express ideas respectfully.

Evaluation Method (Expanded)
