Learning Objectives

Lesson Development – ABC Model

A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)

Teacher asks learners: “What do you do to keep your body clean?” Learners share ideas and experiences. Simple hand and arm stretches are done as warm-up.

    • Personal Hygiene: Teacher defines personal hygiene as the practice of keeping the body clean and well-groomed to prevent illness, maintain health, and promote overall well-being.

      • Promotes self-confidence and social acceptance.
      • Supports physical activity by reducing the risk of skin infections, eye irritation, or foot problems.
  1. Key Body Parts to Care For & Demonstrations:
    • Hands: Demonstrate proper handwashing techniques, emphasizing soap, water, and scrubbing for at least 20 seconds.
    • Teeth: Show proper tooth brushing and flossing techniques to prevent cavities and gum disease.
    • Hair: Demonstrate combing, brushing, and keeping hair clean to prevent lice and scalp infections.
    • Feet: Show cleaning and drying of feet, and wearing clean socks to prevent fungal infections.
    • Eyes, Ears, and Nose: Demonstrate gentle cleaning (wiping eyes, cleaning ears safely with a cloth, blowing nose) to prevent irritation and infection.
