Instructional Materials
Storybooks, scenario cards, drawing materials

Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Ask learners: “Why do people sometimes argue or fight?” Discuss initial thoughts.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes

Content/Explanation:

  • Explain the common causes of conflicts:
    • Misunderstanding: when someone does not understand another person’s words or actions.
    • Differences in opinion: when people have opposing ideas or preferences.
    • Competition for resources: such as toys, classroom materials, or attention.
    • Jealousy: wanting what someone else has or feeling left out.
  • Use short stories and classroom scenarios to illustrate each cause. For example: two classmates want the same pencil and argue; one child misunderstands another’s comment and feels hurt.
  • Conduct role-play activities where learners act out scenarios and then identify the cause of the conflict.
  • Facilitate class discussion on how these causes affect relationships and how they make people feel.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):

  • Listen attentively to explanations and stories about conflict causes.
  • Participate in role-play, acting out different causes of conflicts in pairs or small groups.
  • Identify the cause of conflict in given scenarios presented by the teacher.
  • Reflect on how each cause can lead to negative outcomes and discuss alternatives to avoid conflict.

Assessment Checks:

  • Ask learners to name one cause of conflict in their own words.
  • Observe participation during role-plays and class discussions for understanding.
  • Review scenario responses to ensure learners can correctly identify causes of conflict.
  • Pose reflective question: “How can understanding the cause of a conflict help you solve it?”

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):

  • Highlight that understanding the causes of conflict is essential for resolving conflicts peacefully.
  • Emphasize that many conflicts can be avoided by communication, patience, and understanding others’ perspectives.
  • Encourage learners to notice potential causes of conflict in their daily life and think of ways to prevent them.
  • Reinforce that resolving conflicts early maintains friendships and harmony in class and home.
