Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Ask learners: “What can we do when we have a disagreement?” Discuss initial ideas.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes

Content/Explanation:

  • Explain methods of resolving conflicts:
    • Communication: talking calmly to explain your feelings and point of view.
    • Listening: paying attention to understand what the other person is saying.
    • Compromise: finding a solution that both parties agree on.
    • Apology: saying sorry sincerely when you are wrong.
  • Use role-play scenarios to demonstrate each method. For example: two learners arguing over a toy and then using communication and compromise to share it.
  • Encourage learners to practice in pairs or groups with prepared scenarios, applying one or more conflict resolution strategies.
  • Facilitate a discussion about the outcomes of each approach, highlighting how peaceful resolutions maintain relationships.
