Previous Knowledge
Students already know conflict causes and basic resolution methods.

Instructional Materials
Scenario cards, storybooks, role-play props, chart papers

Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Ask learners: “Can you remember a time you solved a conflict peacefully?” Share experiences briefly.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes

Content/Explanation:

  • Guide learners through group activities where they analyze various conflict scenarios and choose the most appropriate resolution strategies.
  • Conduct case studies using examples from school or home, such as:
    • Two classmates arguing over sharing a book
    • Siblings disputing over household chores
    • Friends feeling left out of a game
  • Learners work in groups to role-play these scenarios, applying methods like communication, listening, compromise, and apology.
  • Facilitate discussion on lessons learned from each scenario and how these strategies can be applied in real life to prevent escalation of conflicts.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):

  • Participate in group scenario analysis, identifying conflicts and proposing solutions.
  • Engage in role-play, demonstrating chosen conflict resolution methods.
  • Reflect on personal experiences, sharing how they might handle similar situations in real life.
  • Discuss outcomes of each strategy and evaluate which methods worked best.

Assessment Checks:

  • Observe learners applying conflict resolution strategies effectively during role-play.
  • Ask learners to explain why a certain strategy works in a given scenario.
  • Review group reflections to ensure understanding of methods and their practical applications.
  • Pose reflective question: “Which strategy would you use next time a conflict arises and why?”

Notes (Expanded & Detailed):

  • Highlight that practice is essential to becoming skilled at resolving conflicts peacefully.
  • Emphasize that different conflicts may require different strategies, and choosing wisely prevents escalation.
  • Encourage learners to apply learned strategies at home, school, and community settings.
  • Reinforce that peaceful conflict resolution builds trust, cooperation, and stronger relationships.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: Conflict resolution skills improve with practice; working together and reflecting helps us resolve disagreements peacefully.

Evaluation Method (Expanded)
Exit slip/quiz: Learners describe one strategy they used in group activity
Teacher will collect slips and provide oral feedback.

Assignment (Expanded)
Apply one conflict resolution method in a real-life situation at home or school and write about it.

Follow-up Activity
Share with the class or family how using a conflict resolution strategy helped solve a disagreement.

Differentiation / Inclusive Strategies
Provide scenario cards with varying complexity for learners at different levels
Use peer support during group activities
