Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Ask learners: “Have you planted a seed before? What happened?”

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes

Content/Explanation:

  • Begin by explaining that God created plants, flowers, and trees, highlighting their variety and beauty.
  • Teach the stages of plant growth:
    • Seed: the beginning of life for a plant
    • Sprout/Seedling: the young plant emerging from the seed
    • Mature Plant: fully grown plant that can produce flowers, fruits, or seeds
  • Discuss the role of plants in daily life and the environment, including providing food, oxygen, shade, and beauty.
  • Use storytelling: narrate how God created plants and their importance in His creation.
  • Conduct a hands-on planting activity: learners plant seeds in small containers or observe seedlings already growing. Encourage learners to note differences in growth.
  • Organize a drawing activity: learners illustrate the “Life cycle of a plant”, labeling the stages from seed to mature plant.

Learners’ Activities (Expanded):

  • Listen attentively to the story of God creating plants.
  • Participate in planting seeds or observing seedlings in the classroom.
  • Draw the plant life cycle, labeling each stage.
  • Discuss with peers examples of plants they see around them and their uses.

Assessment Checks:

  • Ask learners to explain one stage of plant growth in their own words.
  • Observe participation during the planting or observation activity to ensure engagement and understanding.
  • Review drawings to confirm learners understand the life cycle and stages of plant growth.
  • Ask reflective questions: “Why is it important to care for plants that God has created?”
