Define preventive measures as actions taken to stop illness before it occurs. Explain the following key practices:

  • Proper hygiene: washing hands with soap, bathing regularly, keeping clothes and surroundings clean.
  • Vaccination: immunizations protect the body from specific diseases like measles, TB, and chickenpox.
  • Nutrition: eating balanced meals with proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and water to strengthen immunity.
  • Isolation of sick persons: keeping ill individuals separated to prevent disease spread.
  • Sleep and exercise: adequate rest and physical activity maintain a strong body and reduce susceptibility to illness.

Demonstrate practical activities:

  • Correct handwashing technique using soap and water.
  • Safe handling of food to prevent contamination.
  • Role-play scenarios caring for a sick family member while maintaining cleanliness and safety.
