Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Discussion: Ask students if they have helped someone with a minor injury. Quick demonstration of a clean wound

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes

  1. Demonstration of First Aid Skills:
  • Cleaning a wound: Show how to wash hands, use clean water, gently clean a small cut, and apply antiseptic if available.
  • Applying bandages: Demonstrate different types of bandages (adhesive strip, gauze) and proper wrapping techniques without cutting off circulation.
  • Handling minor injuries: Show how to manage bruises, minor burns (cool water), and small nosebleeds. Emphasize gentle care and comfort for the injured person.
  1. Key Safety and Hygiene Points:
  • Wash hands before and after giving care
  • Avoid touching the wound directly with bare hands
  • Always use clean materials (bandages, cloths)
  • Stay calm and reassure the injured person
  1. Role-Play Preparation:
  • Set up stations with props (bandages, toy cuts, clean cloths)
  • Assign learners to demonstrate one skill at a time under supervision
  • Teacher models first, then students repeat

  • Station Rotations: Students rotate through stations practicing:
  1. Cleaning a small wound
  2. Applying bandages correctly
  3. Managing minor injuries (bruises, burns, nosebleeds)
