Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher sings a short chorus about thanking God and asks learners: “Why do we thank God every day?” Learners share short answers like food, life, protection. Teacher then introduces the lesson: Man’s duty to God.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes

  1. Definition and Explanation
  • Teacher defines duty as:
“What we must do to show love, respect, and obedience to someone.”
  • Man’s duty to God means the responsibilities humans have because God created and cares for us.
  • These duties include:
    • Obedience
    • Worship
    • Prayer
    • Thanksgiving
    • Following God’s Word

  1. Bible and Quran References
  • Bible: 1 Samuel 3:10 — Samuel answers God’s call (“Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening”).
  • Quran: Surah An-Nahl 16:36 — Allah sent messengers to be obeyed.

  1. Examples of Obedience
  • Abraham’s willingness to obey God by being ready to sacrifice his son.
  • Samuel’s response to God’s call.
  • Prophet Muhammad’s obedience to Allah’s command at Mount Hira.

  1. Demonstration
  • Teacher leads a short prayer and a thanksgiving example to show how we can obey and thank God.
  • Teacher acts out a brief role-play or story illustrating obedience.

  1. Learners’ Activities (Expanded)
  • Discussion: Learners share ways they can obey God daily (e.g., praying before meals, being honest, obeying parents).
  • Drawing Activity: Learners draw two things they do to show gratitude to God.
  • Role-Play:
    • One learner acts as Samuel answering God’s call.
    • Others act as Prophet Muhammad following God’s command at Mount Hira.

  1. Assessment Checks

Teacher asks:

  • What does “duty” mean?
  • Name two duties of man to God.
  • Who obeyed God in the Bible?
  • Who obeyed God in the Quran?

  1. Notes (Expanded & Detailed)
  • Man’s duty to God means recognizing Him as Creator and Sustainer of life.
  • These duties are expressions of love and respect for God’s care.
  • Obedience, worship, prayer, thanksgiving, and following God’s Word are essential parts of these duties.
  • Examples from scriptures:
    • Abraham’s faith and obedience.
    • Samuel’s readiness to listen and obey God’s voice.
    • Prophet Muhammad’s acceptance of Allah’s call at Mount Hira.
  • Today, children show duty by praying, singing songs of praise, obeying parents, and thanking God for daily blessings.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: Teacher reminds learners that God created man and expects obedience, worship, and gratitude. Examples from Bible and Quran show how Abraham, Samuel, and Prophet Muhammad obeyed God.
Evaluation Method (Expanded): Exit slip/quiz: Write down two duties man has to God. Teacher will collect slips and provide oral feedback.
Assignment (Expanded): Learners write five sentences about how they can show duty to God at home and in school.
Follow-up Activity: Learners practice one duty (such as saying a prayer of thanks) with family members.
Differentiation / Inclusive Strategies
Pair strong readers with weaker readers during scripture reading. Allow learners who struggle with writing to express their ideas orally or through drawing.
