Instructional Materials

Lesson Development – ABC Model

A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher asks learners: “If you fell into a deep pit, who would you want to save you?” Students respond with examples like father, mother, or friend. Teacher connects this to how God saves people from sin. Teacher displays the word “SALVATION” on a chart and asks: “What do you think this word means?” Students share ideas.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes
Theme: Salvation – God’s Gift of Forgiveness and Eternal Life

  1. Introduction and Definition

Teacher defines “Salvation”:
Salvation means deliverance from sin and its consequences. It is a gift from God that brings forgiveness, peace, and eternal life.

  1. Explanation of Salvation in Two Religions
  • Christianity:
    • All people have sinned (Romans 3:23), but God offers Salvation through Jesus Christ.
    • Jesus died on the cross and rose again to save people from sin.
    • Reference: John 3:16 – "For God so loved the world..."
  • Islam:
    • Salvation comes through Allah’s mercy and forgiveness.
    • If a person sincerely repents (asks for forgiveness) and lives righteously, Allah forgives them.
    • Reference: Surah Az-Zumar 39:53 – “Do not despair of the mercy of Allah…”

  1. Why is Salvation Important?
  • It restores our relationship with God.
  • It gives peace of mind and freedom from guilt.
  • It gives hope of eternal life after death.
  • It encourages us to live holy lives: praying, obeying, being honest, and kind.
  1. Demonstration / Role-Play by Teacher
  • Role-play:
    • One student acts as someone burdened by guilt after doing wrong.
    • Another student shows how praying and asking for forgiveness brings relief and peace.

  1. Learners’ Activities (Expanded)
  • Whole class discussion:
    • Learners give examples of sins (e.g., lying, stealing, disobedience).
    • Discuss how God forgives and helps people change.
  • Pair work:
    • Learners act out short role-plays of someone who has done wrong and is seeking forgiveness.
  • Class sharing:
    • Learners take turns sharing how they can live in Salvation daily (e.g., being truthful, praying, helping others, obeying parents).

  1. Assessment Checks (Oral Questions)
  • What is Salvation?
  • Why is Salvation important for Christians?
  • How does Islam teach about Salvation?
  • Mention one way a child can live in Salvation daily.

  1. Notes (Expanded & Detailed)
  • Salvation is a way that God rescues people from the power and punishment of sin.
  • In Christianity, Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ, who died and rose again.
  • In Islam, Allah forgives those who sincerely repent and try to live good lives.
  • Salvation is important because it brings forgiveness, peace, and hope of eternal life.
  • Children show they are living in Salvation by praying, telling the truth, obeying rules, helping others, and avoiding sin.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: Salvation means deliverance from sin and punishment. Christians believe Jesus saves, while Muslims believe Allah forgives through mercy. It is important to live in Salvation by praying, obeying God, and avoiding sin.

Evaluation Method (Expanded):
Exit slip/quiz: Teacher asks students to write on slips: “One way I can live in Salvation every day is ______.” Teacher collects slips and provides oral feedback.

Assignment (Expanded):
Write in your notebook three reasons why Salvation is important to you as a child.

Follow-up Activity:
Students share with their parents what they learned about Salvation and ask parents to explain how they received God’s forgiveness in their faith.

Differentiation / Inclusive Strategies
Teacher uses simple language and pictures for struggling learners. Advanced learners are asked to explain Salvation using examples from Bible or Quran. Pair and group work ensures all learners participate.
