Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter) Time: 5–10 minutes
Learners’ Activities (Expanded): Students discuss ways they show friendship and love in school or at home.
Assessment Checks: Teacher asks for examples of kind and unkind behaviors.
Notes (Expanded & Detailed): Reinforce positive behavior and respect for others.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes
Learners’ Activities (Expanded): Teacher explains the characteristics of healthy relationships (trust, respect, support, communication) and unhealthy relationships (control, disrespect, abuse, lack of trust). Learners participate in role-plays demonstrating scenarios of both types of relationships. Students work in groups to discuss ways to express friendship and love in safe and respectful ways. Teacher facilitates discussions on self-acceptance and recognizing differences in others, emphasizing empathy and inclusivity.

Assessment Checks: Teacher observes learners’ participation in role plays and group discussions. Learners are asked to list one quality of a healthy relationship and one sign of an unhealthy relationship. Teacher checks understanding of self-acceptance and respecting others’ differences.

Notes (Expanded & Detailed): Healthy relationships are built on respect, trust, and mutual understanding. Unhealthy relationships may involve coercion, disrespect, or emotional harm. Self-acceptance helps learners make positive choices and respect diversity. Role-play and discussion encourage practical understanding of boundaries, empathy, and communication skills.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment) Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: Students share key points on healthy relationships and self-acceptance.
Evaluation Method (Expanded):
Exit slip/quiz: Write one example of a healthy relationship and one quality of a good friend. Teacher reviews and provides feedback.
Assignment (Expanded): Students create a poster showing qualities of good relationships.
Follow-up Activity: Students observe interactions at school and identify examples of positive behaviors.
Differentiation / Inclusive Strategies: Pair learners to encourage sharing ideas; use visual aids for students with difficulties.
