Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher asks learners: “What rules do you follow at home or in school?” Learners share answers (e.g., sweeping, doing homework, obeying parents). Teacher connects these rules to God’s commandments as His rules for life.

 

 

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes
Topic: The First Four Commandments – Our Relationship with God

  1. Introduction
  • Teacher explains that commandments are God’s laws or instructions given to guide people.
  • God gave the Ten Commandments to Moses on Mount Sinai (Exodus 20:1–11).
  • These commandments help us love and serve God and live peacefully with others.

 

  1. The First Four Commandments (Focus on Relationship with God):
  2. You shall have no other gods before Me.
  3. You shall not make for yourself idols.
  4. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
  5. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

 

  1. Explanation and Simple Terms
  • No other gods: Worship only God, not money or idols.
  • No idols: Do not bow to images or statues; instead, pray to God directly.
  • Do not misuse God’s name: Avoid using God’s name in jokes, lies, or disrespectful ways.
  • Keep the Sabbath: Take time for worship, prayer, and rest on the special day.

  • Allah commands obedience to Him alone and forbids idolatry (Surah Al-Ikhlas).
  • Prophet Muhammad (SAW) emphasized the importance of prayer and devotion to Allah.

  • Learners recite the first four commandments together.

  • In groups, learners discuss practical ways to obey them (e.g., praying daily, not lying using God’s name).
