Lesson Development – ABC Model

A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher asks: “What do you do when your parents call you? Do you answer quickly or delay?” Teacher explains that just like we respond to parents, we must also respond to God.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes
Topic: Duty to God

  1. Definition & Explanation
  • Duty to God means showing:
    • Obedience (doing what God commands)
    • Worship (honoring God through praise and prayer)
    • Prayer (talking to God regularly)
    • Gratitude (being thankful for God’s blessings)
    • Service (helping others as an act of love to God)

  1. Scripture Examples

Bible Examples:

  • Samuel: Responded to God’s call with the words, “Speak, Lord, your servant is listening” (1 Samuel 3:10).
  • Abraham: Obeyed God by leaving his homeland, trusting God’s promises (Genesis 12).

Quran Examples:

  • Man was created to worship Allah (Quran 51:56).
  • Prophet Muhammad (SAW): Always prayed regularly and served God faithfully.

  1. Daily Life Examples of Duty to God
  • Praying every day (morning, evening, or before meals).
  • Giving thanks before and after eating.
  • Obeying God’s Word by following moral rules.
  • Helping family, friends, and community members.
  • Avoiding waste of food, water, and other resources.

  1. Practical Activity
  • Role-play: Learners act out different ways to respond to God, such as:
    • Saying a prayer of thanks.
    • Helping a neighbor or friend.
    • Obeying instructions given by a parent or teacher as a form of obedience to God’s commands.

  1. Learners’ Activities (Expanded)
  • Participate actively in role-plays.
  • Answer oral questions during the discussion.
  • Write in their notebooks one way they can show duty to God at home.

  1. Assessment Checks (Teacher’s Questions)
  • What are two duties of man to God?
  • Give one example of obedience from the Bible.
  • Give one example of obedience from the Quran.

  1. Notes (Expanded & Detailed)
  • Responding to God by fulfilling our duties is our primary responsibility as humans.
  • It shows love, respect, and faithfulness to God.
  • God blesses those who obey Him and follow His commands.
  • Disobedience leads to consequences but repentance and returning to duty bring restoration.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Summary: Man’s duty to God is to worship, obey, and serve Him. We learn from Samuel, Abraham, and Prophet Muhammad how to respond to God.
Evaluation Method (Expanded):
Exit slip/quiz: Students write one duty of man to God and one example from scripture. Teacher reviews and gives oral feedback.
Assignment (Expanded): Learners will make a list of three ways they will respond to God during the week and share in class next lesson.
Follow-up Activity: Students will observe one act of gratitude (saying “thank you” to God) daily and report.
Differentiation / Inclusive Strategies
Encourage shy students to participate in role-plays in pairs. Use flashcards and pictures to support learners with low literacy skills. Provide oral prompts for struggling learners.
