Lesson Development – ABC Model

A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher asks: “What happens if you refuse to do your homework when asked?” Students answer: punishment, scolding, etc. Teacher links this to failure to respond to God.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes
Topic: Failure to Respond to God

  1. Definition & Explanation
  • Failure to respond to God means:
    • Being disobedient to His commands
    • Ignoring God’s guidance
    • Being ungrateful for His blessings

 

  1. Scripture Examples

Bible Examples:

  • The Israelites worshipping idols instead of God (Exodus 32:1-35).
  • Adam and Eve disobeying God by eating the forbidden fruit (Genesis 3).

Quran Examples:

  • People who rejected Allah’s guidance and faced punishment (e.g., people of Prophet Noah, Pharaoh).

 

  1. Consequences of Failure to Respond
  • Separation from God.
  • Suffering and hardship.
  • Feeling of guilt and shame.
  • Punishment or discipline.

 

  1. Daily Life Examples
  • Lying to parents or teachers.
  • Stealing things that do not belong to you.
  • Refusing to pray or follow religious duties.
  • Disrespecting parents and elders.

  • Group Work: Students list real-life examples of failing God’s expectations (lying, cheating, disobedience).
  • Role-play: Each group acts out one example of failure and then discusses how to make better choices that respond well to God.

Summary: Failure to respond to God is disobedience. It leads to suffering and separation from God. We should learn from the Israelites and others and choose obedience.
Evaluation Method (Expanded):
Exit slip/quiz: Students write one example of man’s failure to respond to God and its consequence.
Assignment (Expanded): Learners will keep a diary for one day, noting when they obeyed and when they disobeyed, then reflect.
Follow-up Activity: Discuss with parents how they felt when the learner obeyed or disobeyed instructions.
