Lesson Development – ABC Model

A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)

Time: 5–10 minutes

Teacher shows pictures of a baby, a seed growing into a tree, and a chick hatching. Students observe that things develop step by step.

B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)

Time: 25–30 minutes
Topic: Development in Creation

  1. Teacher Explanation

Definition:
Development means gradual growth or progress. It is the process by which something becomes more advanced or complete over time.

Application to Creation:

  • God did not create everything at once — creation happened step by step.
  • Both the Bible and Quran show that creation was orderly and purposeful.

  1. Religious Text References

Bible – Genesis 1:

  • Day 1 – Light and darkness
  • Day 2 – Sky and water
  • Day 3 – Land, seas, and plants
  • Day 4 – Sun, moon, and stars
  • Day 5 – Fish and birds
  • Day 6 – Animals and man
  • Day 7 – God rested

This shows development: from simple things (light) to more complex (humans).

Quran – Various Verses:

  • Allah created the heavens and the earth in stages (Surah Fussilat 41:9–12)
  • Creation of man from clay, then stages in the womb (Surah Al-Mu’minun 23:12–14)

These verses show gradual creation and continuous development of life.

  1. Key Concept

Creation is not finished — it is ongoing:

  • New plants grow
  • Animals reproduce
  • Babies are born
  • People build houses, schools, and invent new things
  • Seasons change
  • Technology advances

All these are signs of God’s continuous work in development.

  1. Practical Activity
  2. Timeline Drawing:
  • Learners draw a timeline with 6 stages of creation from Genesis 1 or Quranic stages.
    • They label and illustrate each day or stage.
  1. Drama Activity (Group Work):
  • Divide the class into 6 groups.
  • Each group acts out one stage of creation (e.g., light appearing, birds flying, man being formed).
  1. Discovery Talk:
  • Learners mention things that show development in their environment (e.g., a new baby, crops growing, new school buildings, changing weather).

  1. Learners’ Activities (Expanded)
  • Draw a timeline of the creation process.
  • Act out a stage of creation in groups.
  • Identify and describe real-life examples of ongoing development.
  • Discuss how development shows God's wisdom and power.

  1. Assessment Checks (Oral Questions)
  2. What does development mean?
  3. Mention two stages in the creation story.
  4. What does the Bible say about how God created the world?
  5. How is creation still developing today?
  6. Can you give an example of something developing around you?

  1. Notes (Expanded & Detailed)
  • Development means slow, step-by-step growth or progress.
  • Both Bible and Quran show that creation was not sudden. God created the world in stages.
  • This teaches us that God is wise and orderly.
  • Creation still continues today — new lives are born, plants grow, buildings rise, and science and knowledge increase.
  • Man should appreciate God's ongoing work and play a positive part by caring for creation.

C – Consolidation (Conclusion & Assessment)

Time: 5–10 minutes

Summary: Creation developed in stages, and it continues to develop today.

Evaluation Method (Expanded): Exit slip/quiz: Draw or write two stages of creation.

Assignment (Expanded): Write three ways you can see creation developing in your community.

Follow-up Activity: Students bring a picture of something that shows development (plant, baby, house).

Differentiation / Inclusive Strategies

Teacher uses drawings for learners who learn visually.
