Topic: The Fall of Man

  1. Teacher Explanation

Definition:
The fall of man refers to the moment when Adam and Eve disobeyed God and committed the first sin. This event is seen as the beginning of human separation from God.

  1. Scriptural References

Bible – Genesis 3:

  • God placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden with one rule: Do not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
  • The serpent (Satan) tempted Eve, and she ate the fruit.
  • She gave it to Adam, and he ate too.
  • As a result, sin entered the world.

Quran – Surah Al-Baqarah 2:35–37:

  • Allah told Adam and his wife not to go near a certain tree.
  • They were tempted by Shaitan (Satan).
  • They disobeyed but repented, and Allah forgave them.

  1. Consequences of the Fall
  • Suffering – pain and hardships entered the world.
  • Hard labor – man must work hard for food.
  • Pain in childbirth – especially for women.
  • Death – physical and spiritual death became part of human life.
  • Separation from God – they were removed from the Garden.
  • Loss of innocence – they felt shame and guilt.

  1. Key Lessons from the Fall
  • Obedience to God is very important.
  • Disobedience (sin) brings punishment.
  • Temptation can lead to sin if we are not careful.
  • God is merciful and forgives those who truly repent.

  1. Practical Activity
  2. Role-play:
  • Learners act out the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden.
  • Include the temptation, eating the fruit, God’s questioning, and the consequences.
  1. Group Discussion:
  • Why is it important to obey rules (God’s, parents’, school)?
  • How can we avoid temptation?

  1. Learners’ Activities (Expanded)
  • Participate in a drama/role-play of the Fall of Man.
  • In small groups, list the consequences of disobedience.
  • Discuss ways to resist temptation in their daily lives.
  • Draw the Garden of Eden and label the tree, serpent, Adam, and Eve.

  1. Assessment Checks (Oral Questions)
  2. What is the Fall of Man?
  3. Who tempted Eve?
  4. What happened after Adam and Eve disobeyed God?
  5. Mention two consequences of the fall.
  6. What lesson can we learn from the fall of man?

  1. Notes (Expanded & Detailed)
  • The Fall of Man is a turning point in the history of mankind. It shows that sin separates us from God.
  • Disobedience brought pain, suffering, and death.
  • Even though Adam and Eve sinned, God still showed mercy—He clothed them and forgave them after they repented (Quran).
  • This story teaches children the importance of obedience, resisting temptation, and seeking forgiveness.
