Lesson Development – ABC Model
A – Anticipation (Warm-up / Starter)
Time: 5–10 minutes
Teacher asks familiar questions such as: “Quel est ton nom ?” and “Quelle heure est-il ?” Students answer in French.
B – Building Knowledge (Main Lesson Body)
Time: 25–30 minutes
Topic Focus: Using interrogatives in real-life communication through practical and conversational examples.
Teacher’s Explanation:
The teacher begins by explaining that interrogative words are used to ask real questions in everyday life. These words are powerful tools to start conversations, ask for help, or seek information.
The teacher then introduces 3 common practical questions in French, writing them clearly on the board along with their meanings:

This role-play is repeated with two other students using new names and responses.
Listening Comprehension Activity:
Teacher reads a short dialogue between two imaginary friends:
A: Bonjour ! Quel est ton nom ?
B: Je m’appelle Kofi.
A: Quelle heure est-il ?
B: Il est neuf heures.
A: Quoi de neuf ?
B: Tout va bien.
Teacher then asks:
Students answer orally or write the answers in their notebooks.
Group Activity – Dialogue Creation:
Students are divided into small groups of 3–4. Each group is instructed to:
A: Où vas-tu ?
B: Je vais à l’école.
A: Quel est ton nom ?
B: Mon nom est Samuel.
Groups rehearse and present their dialogues in front of the class.
